MITCHELL’S vegan HOMEMADE ICE CREAM product review
Mitchell’s is a few miles down the road from me in Rocky River, Ohio, been by their shop many times, never thought to stop in, because they’re an ice cream shop, a dairy ice cream shop.
When I was waiting for my plane at Cleveland Hopkins Airport, my gate was right across from a Mitchell Ice Cream kiosk. I walked by, said oh right, this is all dairy. The woman said wait a minute, I think I may have something for you.
Vegan? You betcha’, we’ve got a vegan ice cream right here. Two kinds, one, vegan salted caramel pecan, and the other was minus either the caramel or the pecan, I think the pecan. So, I got the best of both worlds – salted caramel pecan. A half pint.
I opened the lid and just took my time with it – savoring every spoonful. So creamy, flavorful, melt in your mouth just right!
I heard Bradley – Hartford over the intercom a couple times and wondered why no one was boarding. Finally I walked up to the guy at the podium, asked him, and he said, What?? Hartford??? You’re at the wrong gate!!! It’s four not two.
He said, don’t worry, don’t worry, you’ll make it.
I made it, but wondered how absent-minded I could be. I could have missed it.
But if I had been at gate four, I never would have seen that ice cream kiosk right across from me.
As fate would have it, I got my vegan ice cream and to my plane on time – just barely on time.
Thank you Mitchell’s for a beautiful vegan ice cream treat! I already know where you live, so next time I walk by, I’ll walk in and enjoy the experience all over again! – absent ‘catching a plane on time’ part.
