
JUST EGG PANCAKE
A pancake made out of just egg? Why not when it’s JUST EGG doing the bidding? Wow, what a product. Easy to prepare, serve and a delight to eat. It always comes out the same. No need to pan-fry (though you could), but why bother when you can just pop it in the toaster and save on calories and washing the pan too. I love this product – the best on the market today. A miracle I do declare!
Makes 4-8 Servings
Although this product freezes well and can be toasted right from the freezer, I prefer to thaw it in the refrigerator before toasting it.
When thawed, it toasts better, microwaves better and pan-fries in oil better. Actually microwaving it produces a slightly more eggy/spongy texture, which I am beginning to prefer. It’s all good though.
Today we toast it from a thawed state. Drizzle a little tree maple syrup on the plate, place the toasted JUST EGG on top, pat with a little A-F margarine, then drizzle with more syrup. Voila! A perfect egg pancake.
What might be a draw back for some is the hint of onion flavor when used in a sweet dish. Steve didn’t notice it and frankly it surprised me, since I didn’t get that flavor before, so it must have been the sweet that brought the flavor out. I’m thinking that Balsamic Onion Jam would go well in place of the maple syrup or in addition to it.
