Lilly Belle Politicking For Her Clif Bars

I’m not big on health bars, but Steve and Lilly Belle are. Steve, because they’re healthy and convenient, Lilly because she just likes them.

Steve started out with the plain Clif bars that were sold at Walgreen’s. When on sale they were a dollar. He ate more than a few cases of those before he was introduced to the BUILDER’S PROTEIN bar (alluding to bodybuilders), and even I could like that, to a degree. They’re seedy, and gumming them isn’t fun, but like everything else in my world I find a way around it, CHOCOLATE MINT being my favorite. Then they came out with a peanut butter filled variety, which helped soften the chew, which I liked, and Steve decided on as his favorite.

We have to hide them from Lilly, but she always manages to find where they’re holed up and lets us know that she knows. In fact, she won’t budge from the spot until she is satisfied that we know what she wants and that she gets assurances that we’ll deliver – NOW. She can get pretty loud and persistent. Doesn’t take no or later for an answer. The louder she gets, the louder I get, the louder she gets. She doesn’t back down. That’s my Lilly Belle, just like her mama.

Vegan Parmesan In A Shaker

Vegan Parmesan In A Shaker. And yes, it’s made by Follow Your Heart – the same people who make vegan parmesan shreds.

When I can locate it, I carry the shaker in my purse when going to restaurants that don’t serve vegan cheese and just sprinkle it on anything I like. Nobody says a word about it. In fact, most wait staff are intrigued. So don’t be shy, take it with you.

Now, to another matter. We have a problem in Cleveland, Ohio getting these two great products, because the vendors are unreliable. The stores (at least three that I know of) carry it, and they reorder when they’re out, but it doesn’t show up on the next delivery day or week or week after.  Frankly, we’re tired of asking where it is.

Follow Your Heart needs to step up their efforts and keep a better eye on what their vendors are doing. They could be ruining your business by not delivering the product. Or maybe it’s a problem at the Follow Your Heart level. Maybe you’re not making enough, shipping enough or just lack efficiency. You need to keep the product in the store. Not every so often, but as close as possible to always. The managers are ordering it. So where is it? Heinen’s is one of those places where they’re having difficulty getting the orders filled. So get on it – so we can rely on these two great products being available when we want them.

Otherwise, we’ll stop wanting your product. It’s too much work to be your  word of mouth advertisers, then your ‘follow the product’ people to see where it’s going or why it’s not being delivered. We’re not your charity workers. Fix the problem.

Vegan Chicken Nuggets Served Cold

PRODUCT REVIEW FOR: Delight Soy Vegan Chicken Nuggets In Mandarin Sauce.

Okay, Heinen’s Supermarket in Northeast Ohio buys the vegan nuggets from Delight Soy, then they add their own mandarin sauce to it and sell them in the deli.

First time Steve brought these home I was stunned at how good they were. I figured they had to be made from gluten, since there was no aftertaste of soy. They’re made from green soy beans by a company in North Carolina that grows them, then makes this wonderful product along with other products I have yet to try.

This has to be the finest plant meat product – at least the one I tried, the vegan chicken nuggets – that exists on the planet today. It is a real treat. Steve works near a Heinen’s so he can get them for me with ease. I just want everybody else to be able to taste these gems.

I usually don’t do anything with them. Don’t even cook them. Eat them right out of the container with nothing but the sauce coating that comes on them. And there’s not a lot of sauce.

They are just perfect. So now how do we get Delight Soy to expand their reach so we all can enjoy their perfect product?

They need to expand – fast. Maybe they need investors. Check them out. I never would have heard about them if Steve hadn’t gone looking for new vegan products in Heinen’s. Wow. They need some press. They have THE recipe, that will change the lives of chickens around the globe, and the way humans view plant meat. People need to get on this.

Oh, Heinen’s makes the perfect sauce to go with these nuggets. Next, I’d like to see a barbecue and maybe a maple mustard, maybe a teriyaki.

I’m already looking forward to pay day. You know what I’ll be getting as a treat from Steve. Hope he gets the large container. We all three love them. So yes, three large containers. Lilly Belle, our vegan dog, gets one all for herself.

Thank you Heinen’s for carrying this wonderful vegan product!

Vegan Chicken Nuggets Served Hot – pan-fried in oil
Vegan Chicken Nuggets served as the main dish plant meat with carrots, asparagus and green beans. I had to extend the sauce here. Not a problem. I already had a mandarin type sauce on hand.
