Gordon Plant-Based Patties – Made With Pea Protein. Eight PATTIES to a box NET WT 32 oz. (2 pounds). And guess what? There’s a Gordon’s near where I live in Florida, just like Cleveland, only Cleveland’s GORDON store was right across the street. This GORDON’s is an UBER ride away. I can order online, still I have to pay an UBER to deliver it and that’s pricy.
IMPOSSIBLE and BEYOND are two of the top selling and best textured and flavored plant- based burgers on the market today. Gordon’s whether they did purposely did this or not, created or somebody created for them the best of both burgers. I’m satisfied.
One of the reason’s why Burger King’s plant-based burger didn’t get far off the ground, is they tried to make it too much like the Burger King burger, and truth be told, it was mighty flat in texture and flavor, which is where the trial run of the plant-based burger ended up – in the flat in texture and flavor bin.

1- Pan-fry thawed burgers in 2 T. extra virgin olive oil, till done to your liking on both sides.
2- What appears mushy or very soft thawed, tightens up considerably when cooked.
3- Salt and pepper to taste.
4- Toast 2 Texas bread slices per sandwich.
5- Spread one with veg mayo, and the second with ketchup and mustard.
6- Close sandwich. Place on cutting board. Cut whole sandwich into 1/2 inch cubes.
7- Slide metal flipper under large portion and transfer to serving size bowl or shallow dish.
8- Drizzle generously with Carribbean or Polynesian Chick-fil-A Sauce.

Now why would the animal-free chef buy a sauce made by Chick-fil-A which is sold by a large chicken sandwich franchise?
Since my beginning in the food industry developing animal-free recipes, it has been my policy to support any animal-free, plant-based or vegan individual product sold in otherwise animal product establishments. Why Not? Makes perfect sense to me.
Look, at some point in the near future the entire globe will be animal-free, and later through evolution, our food will be called plant-based. Animal-free is a startle reminder of a past that’s sordid. Plant-based is a reminder of a past long gone, but not to be repeated.
